A highly advanced alien species, the Chameleons suffered a catastrophe on their home planet that left them without faces or identities – forced to live as a culture of identity thieves! Arrogantly declaring themselves the most intelligent beings in the galaxy, the Chameleons set about abducting and replacing humans… at least, until the Second Doctor got involved. ‘The Faceless Ones’ (1967) was a six-part episodic story, of which only two episodes survive in the BBC Archives. In 2020, the lost episodes were reconstructed in an animated format – bringing the classic story back to fans old and new!
