In the TNG's third season, the Klingons were finally given a new design of battle cruiser - the Vor'cha class. It made its debut in 'Reunion' before going on to become the mainstay of the Klingon fleet, making regular appearances on TNG and DS9. It was designed by Rick Sternbach, who kept the layout of Matt Jefferies' original D7 but made it much more angular and aggressive.
